What is The Spinal Perez Reflex?
The Spinal Perez Reflex assists in developing the Landau and Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (STNR), as well as, assisting the infant in getting up on his hands and knees around six to nine months of age. Also a precursor to crawling.
It assists in the development of muscle tone along the front and back of the trunk and is the foundation for whole body coordination.
When the reflex is still active, hypersensitivities of the auditory and tactile system are onserved, and disorders in sensory processing are often noted.
